Every UMIH center is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and staffed by fellowship-trained radiologists covering musculoskeletal (MSK), breast, and neuroradiology subspecialties.

Fast, patient-first scheduling

Same-day and walk-in appointments are available at most locations (unless the study requires prior authorization or extensive prep). Referring physicians typically receive our specialty diagnostic reports within 24–48 hours of the exam.

About Lymph Node Biopsy

When an ultrasound, CT, or PET/CT identifies a lymph node that requires tissue diagnosis, UMIH performs image-guided fine-needle aspiration or core biopsy with local anesthesia. The exam provides the pathology needed for cancer staging, lymphoma workup, or infectious evaluation without an open surgical procedure.

The area is numbed with local anesthesia. Most patients feel pressure rather than pain during the procedure.

How long until I get results?

Cytology or core-biopsy results typically return within 2–5 business days depending on the requested testing.

What are the risks?

Risks are low but include mild bleeding, bruising, and — very rarely — infection. Your radiologist will review these with you before the procedure.
