Fluoroscopy is a special X-ray exam which uses a continuous X-ray picture to visualize organs and bones, on an overhead monitor while the exam is being performed in real time.
During the procedure, radiologists use contrast material through an injection or liquid (oral or rectal) to highlight the area being examined.
The most common procedures we perform in our out-patient facilities are related to gastrointestinal and urological issues.
The exams usually take 30 minutes and require exam preparation.
